ABOUT
Blueberry Fig is a Vancouver-based learning design business offering enthusiastic tutoring, heartfelt coaching, conscientious design, and compassionate consulting. The way you learn is unique. No one else has your dreams and goals, your passions and challenges, your life circumstances and your experiences. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Blueberry Fig is run by Lydia du Bois. I have over 15 years’ experience in K-12 and post-secondary teaching, special education, research, and student support, as well as instructional design, curriculum development, customized resource design, and student advising. I have a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin for which my research was focused on how communities think about mental health. I also hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada and a Bachelor’s degree in Classics and Philosophy from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. I am a parent who frequently bakes misshapen cookies, loves melodramatic dogs, and enjoys mixed metaphors.
I and my local community live and work on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
